Advances in 3D digital technology, such as laser/light scanning and CT imaging, have greatly enhanced the sharing of digital resources, and several recent publications have incorporated 3D data collected using a mix of these different methods. But, when mixing digitally rendered models created from CT scans and 3D laser scans, one may question whether the models are directly comparable.
With this in mind, I am working with R Zac Selden and Kersten Bergstrom to investigate inter-methodological reliability among various 3D processing techniques.
